HAVE YOU LOST YOUR VOICE?

Hello Women Warriors!
Do you find that as a female leader you sometimes have difficulty really discerning who YOU are? Have you found your life absorbed into the lives of those around you, so much so, that you can't dream dreams or identify what you are passionate about?

If so, would you share with us about your experiences?

I'd say 3 years ago that was absolutey true of me. I was so swallowed up in the busyness of serving others that I had lost myself completely and really resented ministry.

After a crisis melt-down and redirection I am a different women. The discipline it takes not to get swallowed up again is tough.

But I have pockets of peace I never had before.

I have to constantly remind myself that I am not everyone's answer. Jesus is the answer, I can only point them to Him and His word.

I've noticed that those that refuse to connect in home groups are the needy ones and I will not be their home group. So GOD is opening my eyes a lot

Very thankful- Its like taking a deep breath

I am the type of person that the needy are drawn to because I want to see things change in their lives. Notice I said "I". I know that God has so much more for them that I pour my life into theirs and a lot of times with no results. I have learned after many years of being drained to keep a distance and ask God who He would like me to disciple. I can still love the needy, but at a healthy distance.

I have learned to really press into God and spend time listening to Him instead of myself.

I have also learned that my "yes" is "yes" and my "no" means "no"

I also know that sometimes I am just to plant the seed and not water it to be the giant tree that God intended. I need to stay in check to see what part I am to do, instead of wanting to do the planting, fertilizing and the watering.

Absolutely I find myself loosing who I am. I've realized that being married to a fellow leader, in which we are partners in ministry, it's so easy to loose who you are - particularly any other giftings you may have that are not a part of your immediate ministry get sent to the back burner. No, let me rephrase that - I let them get sent to the back burner because I get caught up feeling responsible for the ministry at hand (which I've learned is the dark side of one of my strengths - responsibility).

I'm learning that I need to let go of a lot of that burden, because as a several of you have already mentioned, it's God's ministry to grow. I'm just to be used as a tool in His pocket - not to bear the burned of seeing all seeds planted grow to completion.

I'm also learning that to let go I need to make conscious decisions every day to say, "Okay, that is done. Now move on to something else that He has for you. You're not only about one thing."

Great question - thanks for asking. :)
